Kostnice Ossuary / Kutna Hora, Czech Republic

March 30, 2013 by Both Ways

On our way to Austria, stopping in for a visit at the Kostnice Ossuary was an absolute must. Even tho no-one in our group was a hardcore goth, we found it eerily beautiful and quite serene. Date travelled: June 2010 Advertisements

Granada, Spain

March 29, 2013 by Both Ways

Of all the places in Spain that we visited, Granada has a special place in our hearts. The place that gives you a heart attack. After arriving by train in the late evening, we stumbled into the medieval streets and without a map, asked the first taxi driver to take us to our hotel. After about 5min, we’d hit quite severe traffic jam where most drivers and passengers had long since abandoned their cars and headed to the nearest cafe […]

Toledo, Spain

March 20, 2013 by Both Ways

This is our favourite place in Spain, not only because of the amazing town, but we were completely lost at every stage of the journey – even after acquiring two different maps. However, if you were going to get lost somewhere, this was the best place to do it. After barely navigating our way from the train station to the town (with our first map) we’d arrived in Toledo a little too early since all the shops were still closed […]

Mossman Gorge, Australia

March 20, 2013 by Both Ways

Nestled in the southern part of the Daintree Rainforest, Mossman Gorge has definitely earned its stripes in the World Heritage list since it’s managed to survive an impressive 135+ million years – and it shows. It’s evident in the sheer scale of some of the trees. It’s a beautiful bush walk, and we took the opportunity to explore and discover some of the local wildlife that inhabit the area. The setting is not too dissimilar to the New Zealand North […]

Rotorua, New Zealand

March 18, 2013 by Both Ways

Rotorua (aka Rotovegas) was a load of fun – this is where we discovered that flying like Superman is not as easy as it looks… We spun around like two little gerbils inside a giant rubber ball (with cold water inside) rolling down the hill… To top if off, we got to explore an active geothermal wonderland. Rest of the write-up to come… Date Travelled: April 2007

Suva to Rabi Island, Fiji

February 3, 2013 by BE

The trip from Suva to Rabi Island was such an experience in itself that it warrants it’s own dedicated blog post. The first leg of the trip was an overnight journey onboard the ‘Spirit of Fiji’. Being the only foreigners on the ship – seriously – this is when you know that you are getting a genuine local experience. I noticed that people were very curious of us, particularly the young ones more than anyone else. If I’m to be […]

Suva, Fiji

February 3, 2013 by BE

My first trip to Fiji was in 2003 for a mission trip. This was no island holiday, I wasn’t on a mission to relax, work on my tan or drink as many fresh coconuts as I can. It’s the other side of Fiji that not many people get to see and that’s what I loved about it. Suva was our first main ‘pit stop’ on route to Rabi Island, so our stay there was short but sweet. We had no idea […]

Holy smoke! This dessert was AMAZING in every sense of the word. I’ve made it my mission to try out the local ice cream in every city we’ve been to, so I’ve had a decent cross section of flavours from blue cheese ice cream right through to Absynth ice cream. Today, I’ve stumbled across the BEST ice cream in the world and it blew. my. mind. Pidapipó is located in Melbourne’s Chapel St. I had the Pistachio and Salted Caramel gelato - purest flavours and the most gorgeous creamy (almost buttery) texture. Very generous serving size to the point that it was painful (good pain of course) - I was so full but endured it because I just can’t let good ice cream go to waste. This could possibly have ruined me because it’s now set the bar so so high... 😕 . . . #gelato #icecream #pidapipo #pidapipogelateria #chapelstreet #melbourne #australia #melbournefood #fortheloveoffood #dessert #fresh #fruit #wholemilk #realflavour #saltedcaramel #pistachio #italian #gelateria #food #sweet #indulgence

We're currently back in New Zealand recharging the 'ol batteries and plotting our next adventure!

There's been quite a few moments recently which plunged us deep in our memory banks and have made us reminisce about China and Russia.

As much as we love being home, we're starting to get itchy feet... Where to next? ;)
